Fiat - Innovation - Digital Platform - Crowdsourcing

Fiat Brazil developed a groundbreaking collaborative platform that integrates crowdsourcing, open innovation, and Creative Commons to create a "futuristic concept car" known as Fiat Mio. Over 15 months, the Fiat Mio team engaged with 17,000 participants from 160 different nationalities, processing and selecting more than 11,000 ideas. When the Fiat Mio was unveiled in December 2010 at the São Paulo Auto Show, hundreds of people attended, eager to see the prototype they had helped create.

The Fiat Mio project, also known as the Fiat Concept Car III, marked a significant milestone in automotive design and customer engagement. By leveraging the collective intelligence of a diverse global community, Fiat was able to push the boundaries of innovation. Participants contributed ideas on various aspects, including design, functionality, and sustainability, which were then evaluated and incorporated into the final concept.

The project's success showcased the potential of collaborative innovation in the automotive industry, emphasizing the importance of customer input in the development process. The Fiat Mio not only demonstrated advanced technological features and futuristic design elements but also highlighted the power of community-driven creativity in shaping the future of mobility.
